How our funds are managed
The Community Foundation of Whistler's assets are managed by a professional investment manager. Our investment manager is required to adhere to the foundation's Investment Policy. Because the foundation is designed to operate in perpetuity, prudent stewardship of the funds entrusted to us is essential to our mission.
Our Investment Policy serves to ensure that our investments are managed wisely. The goal of the policy is to ensure preservation of the principal and maximize on returns.
The management of our funds is overseen by the foundations Finance and Investment Committee, a panel of local volunteers who possess the expertise to ensure responsible investment of all of our funds. The committee meets quarterly and conducts regular reviews of the investment performance, annual reviews of the fund manager's performance, and an annual review of the Investment Policy.
The Community Foundation of Whistler's financial statements are audited by a third party on an annual basis.
