Since its inception, the Community Foundation of Whistler has made over $725,00 in grants to a wide variety of charitable organizations in Whistler and the Sea to Sky Corridor. Grants are made in response to applications that are carefully reviewed by the Grants Committee and approved by the Board of Directors. Applications for donor advised funds may also be reviewed by an advisory committee, based on the directions of the fund donor.
CFOW Funding Programs
Environmental Legacy Fund - Support for projects that establish conservation; restore or enhance natural habitats; and establish or promote stewardship of the environment in the Whistler area specifically.
Community Grants Program - Support for registered charities serving general community needs with a focus on social services in Whistler, Pemberton and neighbouring First Nations communities.
Scholarship Funds - Scholarships and bursary awards are issued from a variety of funds to students in School District 48. Programs include support for merit / participation in Outdoor Recreation Leadership, academic achievement, early childhood education and others.
Kathy Barnett Memorial Grants Program - Supporting females in the Sea to Sky Corridor to pursue a personal and professional development opportunity. Candidates must be partnered with a local registered charity and demonstrate a long-term commitment to making a difference.
Whistler Youth Foundation Grants Program - Supporting projects and programs in the Sea to Sky Corridor that support youth and youth services specifically.
Emergency Fund Grant - One time grants designated for community groups, families and / or individuals needing short-term support as a result of a natural or socio-economic disaster.
