Growing a Thriving Community

Pemberton Skate Park

Together with The Village of Pemberton, community groups, businesses, and the Community Foundation of Whistler, the Pemberton Skateboard Society has proudly completed the skate park in Pemberton in 2011.

The aim of the project was to create a place where children and youth can pursue recreation and athletic activities. The skate park is free to use by all members of the community and is being used for skate clinics, competitions, and general use.

“The skate park is a great place for kids and youth to ‘hang out’ with a purpose and it fits in with the rest of the activities in that area of town. The Community Centre, the Library, he Youth Centre, the elementary school and the bike tracks...you have to have a lot of patience but never give up on something you believe in.” –Pemberton Skateboard Society

Support for the Pemberton Skatepark project was a result of the Community Grants Program.
